Developmental Editor
I partner with authors to shape manuscripts at the deepest level — structure, character, pacing, and voice — so your story reaches its full potential.
About
Every manuscript has a vision at its heart. My job is to help you find it, refine it, and bring it to life on the page. As a developmental editor, I work with authors during the most formative stage of the writing process — when the big questions about structure, character, and narrative arc shape everything that follows.
I believe great editing is a collaboration. I won't rewrite your voice or impose my own vision. Instead, I'll ask the questions that unlock your story's deepest potential, identify the gaps between intention and execution, and give you a clear roadmap for revision.
Whether you're working on your debut novel or your tenth, I bring the same care and attention to every manuscript that crosses my desk.

Services
Developmental editing goes beyond grammar and prose. It's the deep, structural work that transforms a good manuscript into a great book.
Does your plot hold together? Are the beats landing where they should? I'll evaluate your narrative architecture and help you build a story that keeps readers turning pages.
Compelling characters drive great fiction. I'll dig into motivation, consistency, growth, and relationships to make sure your characters feel real and earned.
The rhythm of a story determines whether readers stay or leave. I'll identify where the momentum stalls, where scenes could breathe, and where tension needs to build.
Your narrative voice is your fingerprint. I'll help you find and sustain a voice that's authentically yours, consistent across the manuscript, and right for your story.
Whether you're writing contemporary realism or secondary-world fantasy, your setting needs to feel lived-in. I'll help you build worlds that support and enrich your story.
Every project includes a comprehensive editorial letter — a detailed roadmap covering big-picture feedback, chapter-level notes, and actionable suggestions for revision.

01
We'll talk about your manuscript, your vision, and what you're hoping to achieve. No commitment — just a conversation to see if we're a good fit.
02
I'll edit a sample of your manuscript (usually the first few chapters) so you can experience my editing style before committing to a full project.
03
The full developmental edit. I'll read your manuscript multiple times, annotate throughout, and prepare a detailed editorial letter with chapter-level notes.
04
After you've had time to digest the feedback, we'll have a follow-up call to discuss questions, priorities, and your revision plan moving forward.
A good editor doesn't just find what's wrong with your story. They find what's right — and help you build everything around it.— On the craft of developmental editing
Kind Words
“Working with her transformed my manuscript. She saw things in my story I hadn't even realized were there, and her feedback gave me a clear path forward. I can't imagine revising without her.”
“She has an extraordinary ability to hold an entire novel in her head and see how every thread connects. Her editorial letter was the most valuable document I've received in my writing career.”
